                              RESOLUTION NO. 21390
                
                
                 A RESOLUTION SETTING A DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING
                 TO AMEND AND EXPAND THE DOWNTOWN AREA
                 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT TO INCORPORATE THE
                 SOUTHSIDE.
                
                
                                                    
                
                
       	    	 WHEREAS, the Downtown Area Improvement Project has
       progressed to a point at which amendments to this redevelopment
       plan are appropriate; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, by resolutions of September 17, 1996, the City
       Council requested and authorized the Chattanooga Housing 
Authority
       to perform studies and prepare redevelopment plans for expanded
       areas commonly referred to as the "Southside;" and
       	    	 WHEREAS, such studies have been completed and
       redevelopment plans have been prepared;
       	    	 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
       THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That a public hearing be held 

       on June 9, 1997, to present proposals for the amendment of the
       Downtown Area Improvement Project and expansion of its 
boundaries.
